Kayte Kinsley is at the top of her game.
The Putnam Valley native was named the Synapse Sports National Coach of the Year for her work on the Pace University field hockey team.
This year, Pace recorded a program-record 15 wins and spent the final eight weeks of the season ranked nationally. They were seeded 3rd in their conference tournament.
The Setters allowed four fewer goals than any team in the country. Offensively, 10 different players recorded at least six points. Individually, the Blue and Gold put four players on the NE10 All-Conference teams while Sanchez Alvarez was named the league's Goalkeeper of the Year.
Kinsley, who was named coach in Feb. 2016, was a state champion in field hockey when she played at Putnam Valley. At Putnam Valley, Kinsley was a four-time All-League selection, Section I Honorable Mention and the Section I Sportsmanship Award recipient. She previously coached at Mercy College.
