A Long Island doctor sexually abused a patient during a routine appointment in New Hyde Park, Nassau County police said Thursday, March 5.
Dr. Mark Hoffman, a 71-year-old Roslyn resident, was seeing a 48-year-old female patient at his office on May 9, 2025, according to investigators. Hoffman and the victim were alone in the exam room at Optum Hematology Oncology when he had unwanted sexual contact with her, cops said. No nurse was present.

A school employee is accused of inappropriately touching a student at Lawrence High School in Cedarhurst, detectives announced on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
Officers responded to a 911 call at the school, located at 2 Reilly Road, around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, after a victim reported the alleged incident to a school administrator, according to Fourth Squad detectives.
Following what detectives described as a thorough investigation, Constantine Theodosiou, 59, of Cedarhurst, was arrested, authorities said.

A Long Island pizzeria owner is accused of luring a 15-year-old employee into his private office and sexually abusing her, police said.
Joseph Piccolo, 61, was arrested Friday, Aug. 15, following an investigation into alleged sexual misconduct at his Oceanside pizzeria, Pizzaiola on Long Beach Road.
Piccolo told the female worker to come back to the restaurant on Sunday, Aug. 10, when nobody else would be there to he could give her extra money, Nassau County Police said.

A gas station worker in New Hyde Park groped a teenage girl, Nassau County police announced on Friday, April 4.
Pankajkumar M. Shah, 63, of Syosset, was arrested after an incident at the Valero Gas Station located at 1501 Jericho Turnpike, according to detectives.
Shah, while employed at the gas station, allegedly grabbed and forcibly touched a 16-year-old girl around 3:25 p.m., police said. The victim immediately fled the scene and called authorities, detectives said.

Nassau County Police say Isaias Granados Bonilla, age 18, of Mineola, inappropriately grabbed and forcibly touched a 13-year-old girl between Monday, Oct. 17, and Friday, Nov. 4, when officers located Bonilla and he was placed under arrest without incident.
Bonilla has been charged with two counts each of:
