Norwalk Firms Support Tiny Miracles Foundation Exhibits Art By Preemies
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Fairfield County-based Tiny Miracles Foundation celebrated World Prematurity Day recently with an exhibit called "Artwork Born Ahead of Its Time," created by local preemies, at the Westport Arts Center.
During this event, over $5,000 was raised to support the foundation.
The event was also sponsored Jerry’s Artarama of Norwalk, Garelick & Herbs, D&D Linen of West Haven, Bar Taco of Norwalk, Cobbs Mill Inn of Weston, Black Cat Grille of Redding and Character Arts of Wilton.

AAA Honors 97-Year-Old Crossing Guard In Greenwich
GREENWICH, Conn. -- AAA Northeast recently recognized Tom Reale, 97, a recently retired school crossing guard in Greenwich, as a "Traffic Safety Hero."
At AAA’s sixth annual Community Traffic Safety Awards lunch recently at Testo’s in Bridgeport, AAA commended Reale for completing 40 years of continuous service as the town’s most senior school crossing guard. Police Chief James Heavey, who nominated Reale, wrote that Reale’s dedication, no matter the weather, has ensured the safety of several generations of Greenwich students who arrived at and left school.

Hudson Valley Native Judith Kaye, First Female Chief Judge In NY, Dies
Judith S, Kaye, the first female chief judge in New York, died from cancer Thursday at her Manhattan home, according to The New York Times. Born in the Hudson Valley's Monticello, Kaye was 77.
Kaye was appointed an associate judge of the Court of Appeals by Gov. Mario M. Cuomo in 1983. She became chief judge following the resignation of Sol Watcher a decade later and presided over the Court of Appeals for nearly 15 years, reported The Times.
