Gas Leak Causes Nausea, Odor At Shopping Plaza In Croton-On-Hudson An activated carbon monoxide alarm as well as reports of nausea and odor prompted a fire department to respond to a Northern Westchester shopping plaza for a gas leak. On Monday, Dec. 12, around 4:15 p.m., firefighters responded to the ShopRite shopping center in Croton-on-Hudson located at 400 Block of South Riverside Avenue after a carbon monoxide detector went off, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. Get Vaccinated: Influenza Cases Jump 'Dramatically' In Hudson Valley, Health Department Says A Hudson Valley Health Department is urging folks to receive their vaccinations as cases of respiratory viruses skyrocket. Cases of influenza have jumped "dramatically" for the second straight week in Putnam County, with 404 reported cases between Sunday, Nov. 27 and Saturday, Dec. 3, compared to 186 cases the previous week, according to the Putnam County Health Department. Man Wanted For Out Of State Attempted Murder Nabbed In Harrison, Police Say A man wanted for attempted murder in another state was found in Westchester County thanks to a chance observation by a police officer. On Thursday, Dec. 8, around 7:40 p.m., an officer in Harrison noticed an expired New Jersey temporary license plate on a vehicle on Westchester Avenue and pulled the vehicle over. Long Island Man Convicted Of Killing Romantic Rival On His Birthday Out Of Jealousy, DA Says A Long Island man has been convicted of killing a 34-year-old victim on his birthday because he was jealous that he was talking to his girlfriend.
