Kurtz is the CEO of CrowdStrike, the cybersecurity firm that appears to be responsible for the global outage that disrupted flights, stock markets, media outlets, and banks. Allentown Cheerleader's Sudden Death Prompts Outpouring Of Support
Support is on the rise for the family of a 14-year-old Allentown girl who died unexpectedly last week. Gabriella "Gabby" Velazquez, a rising sophomore at Allentown Central Catholic High School died on Thursday, July 11, according to her obituary on the Schantz Funeral Home website. As of press time, more than $6,500 had been raised on a GoFundMe for her family launched by Sarah Kleppinger. "Gabby was a vibrant, energetic, young woman who loved her family and had a passion for cheerleading," the campaign said. "She will be dearly missed by all who knew her." : Driver Fails To Yield In Fiery Bayonne Crash That Hospitalized 20-Somethings, Cops Say
A fiery crash involving one car that landed on top of the other closed Route 440 in Bayonne Thursday night, July 18. The crash happened in the northbound lanes closing the roadway at Pulaski Street and Goldsborough Drive as of 10:25 p.m., the OEM said. Bayonne Police Sgt. William Dundas said one driver was cited for failing to stop at a control signal, and both drivers — ages 21 to 26 years old — were taken to the hospital: One for a complaint of pain and one for moderate injury. No further information was available as of press time.

High Bacteria Levels Shuts Swimming At NJ Beach For Rest Of Season
Swimming along one New Jersey beach has been closed for the rest of the season due to high bacteria levels, officials said. The NJ Department of Environmental Protection said only that a water sample from Beachwood Beach West exceeded the water quality standard. In a statement shared to the Beachwood website, the mayor and council said, "you may still sit and take in the lovely view of the scenery but no one will be permitted to swim."

The pressure is on for NJ Transit. The company was left high and dry when Coach USA announced it would be terminating its agreement with the major transportation company, halting service to 20 of its bus routes in Bergen, Hudson, and Passaic counties come Aug. 16. A Burlington County man has been arrested on child pornography charges, authorities said. Arthur Pitt, 55, of Willingboro, became the center of an investigation after the BCPO High-Tech Crimes Unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children concerning Pitt’s online activities, Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. A former biology teacher in Bergen County had his teaching license revoked after an incident in which he purposely backed his car into another vehicle and then used a hammer to assault the victim, state officials said.
