An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Peekskill Woman Gets Proposal Of A Lifetime PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Amanda Luria, a Peekskill resident, had no idea what was going to happen when she went to see her boyfriend, Forty Nguyen perform at Cirque Eloize iD at Foxwoods Resort Casino. Putnam Celebrates Solar Eclipse With Viewing Party PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Putnam Valley Library is gearing up for a once in a generation experience. The Putnam Valley Library will be hosting a viewing party at Putnam Valley Town Park on Monday for the solar eclipse. Poughkeepsie Boots Former Board Member's Office POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Poughkeepsie School Board voted Wednesday 3-2 to remove an Upward Bound office that was used by Randy Coates, a former board member. Coates who was defeated in May's school board elections uses the office in his role as program coordinator for the Upward Bound program at Marist College. Hulda Sellingsloh, 104, Hopewell Junction HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y. -- Hulda Knipling Sellingsloh died at the age of 104 on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at her son's home in Hopewell Junction. Sellingsloh was born to Henry and Hulda Knipling on Nov. 12, 1912, in Calhoun County, Texas, the last child of her parents, who were cotton farmers. Sellingsloh, with her five brothers and four sisters spent her childhood working the fields.
