An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Christian DeMatteis, 43, was issued the summons on May 29 for harassment in the second degree, a violation for a domestic incident that occurred on May 13, police said.  DeMatteis is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, June 6.

Samuel Campbell was convicted and sent to prison on May 1, Sanchez said. Putnam Legislature Appoints New Counsel PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Robert Firriolo is the new legislative counsel for the Putnam County Legislature. Firriolo, who lives in Carmel, was appointed unanimously May 25. His post runs through Dec. 31. Firriolo is currently a partner at Boutin Altieri where he practices litigation, with a concentration in commercial, insurance, firearms and environmental matters. He volunteers with the Knights of Columbus in Carmel and the Boy Scouts in Patterson. Firrolo replaces Clement Van Ross, whose contract was not renewed.

Yorktown Teen Grabs Throat, Steals Property From Woman, Police Say YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Yorktown teen was arrested and charged with two misdemeanors following a domestic incident Tuesday. Ryan Thomas, 19, was arrested and charged with Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, a Class A Misdemeanor and Petit Larceny, a Class A Misdemeanor after police allege he grabbed the throat of the victim and stole property from her. Thomas voluntarily turned himself where he was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court on June 13. A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
