Man Accused Of Vermont Shooting Found Hiding In Western Mass A 28-year-old wanted fugitive accused of a Vermont shooting was found Tuesday morning, March 19, in a Springfield home, authorities announced.  Walter Jones was arrested around 10:15 a.m. at a home in the 0-100 block on Longhill Street, Springfield police said. Man Accused Of Shooting Boston Cop In Chest Charged A 31-year-old Boston man has been arrested and charged with shooting a police officer who was responding to a 911 call Monday night, March 18, police said.  Avery Lewis, of Dorchester, faces 10 charges from the 9:30 p.m. shooting in Mattapan, Boston police announced on Tuesday.  The officer, whose name was not released, responded to a 911 call near the intersection of Esmond and Bradshaw Streets to reports of a man armed with a gun in the area.  Police approached the man who fired a single shot and hit one of them in the chest. Those were 11, 13, 14, 25 and 27. The six-figure ticket was purchased at Star Food Mart at 4 Hovendon Ave. in Brockton.
