Dog Stabbed 17 Times On Long Island, Reward Offered For Info After a two-year-old pup was found with dozens of stab wounds, authorities are searching for the person responsible. Cornell, a 2-year-old terrier mix, has had a rough holiday season. The pup was found bleeding on the street by a Good Samaritan on Monday, Nov. 27 in the area of Washburn Avenue in Freeport with at least 17 stab wounds to the side. Now that he has recovered, the Nassau County District Attorney and the county’s SPCA are looking for the person who did this. Several Departments Battle Long Island Condo Fire A fire broke out at a Long Island condominium complex, leaving residents displaced, authorities said. The fire started on Thursday, Dec. 28 in North Hills, according to Nassau County Police. It was just before 3 p.m. when officials showed up at Acorn Ponds Condominium Complex, located at 41 Chestnut Hill, to battle the blaze. 21-Year-Old Nabbed For Westport Hit-Run: Police A young Connecticut woman has been arrested for a hit-and-run that she committed over a month before, police announced. The Fairfield County crash happened on Saturday, Nov. 25 in Westport, according to the town’s police department. At approximately 8:15 p.m. that day, Alexandra Hamer, age 21, of Westport, was involved in the incident on Saugatuck Avenue near I-95, police said. Though she fled the scene, an investigator was able to obtain dashcam footage of the crash, which allegedly confirmed that she was the perpetrator. Man Struck, Killed By Car On Long Island Street An 85-year-old Long Island man is dead after a car hit him as he tried to cross the street, police said. The incident happened in Manhasset on Thursday, Dec. 28, according to Nassau County Police. Mykola Rybalka, age 85 of Manhasset, was crossing Plandome Road, heading east at around 5:30 p.m. when the car, a 2021 Infiniti, hit him. It is unclear where on Plandome Road he was crossing. The Infiniti, driven by a 79-year-old man, was driving north on Plandome Road. Rybalka was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported.

1-Year-Old Boy Missing On Long Island Authorities have sent out an alert for a child who went missing on Christmas. One-year-old Leo David Guetta was last seen in Copiague on Monday, Dec. 25, according to the New York State Missing Persons Clearinghouse. When he was last seen, the boy was wearing green pajamas. He has brown eyes and brown hair. Authorities said Guetta is 2-foot-6 and weighs approximately 24 pounds. It’s believed that the child is with his non-custodial parent. Dollar Store Employee Selling Hundreds Of Fireworks Nabbed On Long Island: Police A worker at a 99-cent store on Long Island was arrested after police allegedly caught him trying to sell hundreds of illegal fireworks. At approximately 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27, Nassau County Police conducted their investigation into the Uniondale 99 Cents Dollar Discount Store located at 1054 Jerusalem Avenue. Near the cashier, police reportedly noticed several boxes full of fireworks for sale. In total, authorities recovered 486 fireworks from the store.
