Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

South Jersey Man Killed In Collision With Tractor-Trailer: Police A 72-year-old man from South Jersey was killed in a collision with a tractor-trailer, authorities said. John Amendolia Jr. of Hammonton died in the crash at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, according to Winslow Township police. The crash occurred at the intersection of South Egg Harbor Road and Old Forks Road, police said. Amendolia was taken to Cooper University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Elmer Rosell died at the crash scene, according to Millville Police Chief Ross Hoffman. A 41-year-old Leesburg woman was driving a Ford Bronco southbound on the 2300 block of South 2nd Street in Millville at 4:48 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, when her vehicle collided with a Chevy Malibu attempting to make a left turn out of Country Meadows Mobile Home Park, Hoffman said. Man Arrested For Scamming Victim Of $100K On Jersey Shore A 31-year-old man from Jersey City has been arrested in an email scam totaling nearly $100,000, authorities said. Shiva Penmetsa was charged with theft on Tuesday, Dec. 19, according to Wall Township police. Penmesta allegedly sent the woman an email on May 5 thanking her for a $400 subscription, police said. Man Arrested Breaking Into Atlantic City Restaurant: Police A 46-year-old man was arrested after breaking into an Atlantic City restaurant, authorities said.
