The man was a customer at Avon Laundromat on the 100 block of Avon Avenue when he complained to employees that his clothing had been stolen from a dryer around 12:30 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said.  The customer demanded compensation, but was refused, Fragé said. In response, the suspect went behind the shop's counter and took the cash register, which contained $400, Fragé said. The man was hit by the car at the intersection of Spring Street and North Avenue, a spokeswoman for the city said. He was taken to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. The New Jersey Senate approved a bill, 38-0, that would exempt nursing mothers from jury duty. The bill was sponsored by Majority Leader M. Teresa Ruiz (D-Essex/Hudson) and Brian Stack (D-Hudson.) Truck Loaded With Water Waste Overturns On Route 80: Njsp A  tractor trailer filled with water waste overturned on Route 80 in Warren County on the early morning of Sunday, March 19, authorities said. At 12:44 a.m., a Kenworth truck was traveling eastbound on Route 80 in Knowlton Township when the driver lost directional control and overturned, Troy McNair, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The driver sustained moderate injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital, McNair said. The crash remains under investigation, McNair said.
