An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. Horse Rescued From Creek In Hunterdon County: Whitehouse Rescue Squad A horse is back in her stall after getting stuck in a creek and down an embankment Saturday, March 2, rescuers said. At 12:34 p.m. the Whitehouse Fire Company and Whitehouse Rescue Squad were alerted to the scene. The adverse weather made conditions difficult for first responders, but they were able to get the horse out of the creek and down the embarkment, rescuers said.  Members placed blankets on the horse to keep her warm while the lift system was constructed, rescuers said. The Summit five-year-old was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia last week, right before his sixth birthday. Two Unruly Passengers Divert Newark-Bound Flight To Maine A United Airlines flight from Heathrow Airport in London to Newark Liberty International Airport was diverted to Maine on Friday, March 1 after two passengers were disruptive, the airline confirmed. Flight 883, a Boeing 767, landed at Bangor International Airport at 10 a.m., the FAA said.  According to United.com, the flight then took off from Bangor at 11:35 a.m. and landed in Newark at 12:53 p.m. There were 150 passengers and 10 crew members on board, United Airlines said. A swan was caught up in a line on a floating island at Ashley Cove at the lake, Jefferson Township Fire Company #2 said on Facebook.
