At 8:54 p.m., a Nissan traveling on Whitehead Road attempted to make a left onto County Road 513 and crashed into a Jeep SUV traveling southbound, Troy McNair, a spokesman for New Jersey State Police said. Hello, Hoda! Today Show Anchor Hosting Book Signing In New Jersey Hoda Kotb, the co-anchor on "The Today Show" is ready to bring some hope to Bergen County. Kotb is signing copies of her new children's book, "Hope is a Rainbow" on Monday, March 4 at 6 p.m. at Bookends in Ridgewood. The book, meant for kids ages 4 to 8, is about teaching kids to reach for their dreams, whether they are as big as the sky or small as a bowl of a purple ice cream, according to a synopsis.  This is Kotb's third children book. Driver Injured After Car Crashes Into Tree, Bursts Into Flames On Route 80: Njsp A driver was injured on Route 80 in Morris County after they crashed into a tree on the evening of Thursday, Feb. 22, authorities said. At 9:35 p.m., a driver lost control of his Chevy SUV while traveling on Route 80 westbound in Roxbury Township, Troy McNair of the New Jersey State Police said. The car ran off the roadway and collided with a tree, McNair said. As a result of the crash, the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames, McNair said. The driver sustained moderate injuries and was taken to an area hospital, McNair said. The crash remains under investigation, McNair said.

Newark Man Convicted Of Killing His Cousin: Prosecutor A 30-year-old Newark man faces up to 20 years in prison after was found guilty on Thursday, Feb. 22 of fatally shooting his cousin in 2018, authorities said. In Sept. 2018, Assalaam Garnes shot Shakill Springer, a 24-year-old Newark resident outside his home following a verbal argument, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II  said. Garnes was later arrested with the weapon a few weeks later, Stephens said. Garnes was convicted of manslaughter and multiple weapons charges, Stephens said. Garnes will be sentenced in April, Stephens said.

Mike McNamara, Popular Jersey City Photographer, Dad Dies Mike McNamara, an institution in the Jersey City arts community, died on Friday, Feb. 16, due to a complication after surgery, according to a fundraiser set up to support his family.
