Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Air Quality Alert For South Jersey, Pennsylvania Fueled By Wildfire A massive 5,000-acre wildfire raging across Burlington and Ocean counties has contributed to an air quality alert in South Jersey and parts of Pennsylvania, authorities said. Serious Crash Closes Route 1 In Mercer County A serious crash closed Route 1 in Mercer County, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 12:20 p.m. southbound at Franklin Corner Road and Bakers Basin Road in Lawrence Township, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Laser Beam On Atlantic City House Leads To Gun Arrest: Police A 15-year-old boy from Pleasantville — armed with a handgun — was arrested after allegedly pointing the weapon at a house, authorities said. On Tuesday, May 30, at 11:31 p.m., Atlantic City Police Officer John Bell was in the 600 block of Kentucky Avenue when he saw a laser beam being pointed at the house, police said. Catalytic Converter Thefts On Rise In Central Jersey Town: Police Thefts of catalytic converters, particularly from Hondas, have spiked in recent days in a Central Jersey township, authorities said. South Jersey Cocaine Dealer Who Set July 4th Guest On Fire Sentenced: Prosecutor A South Jersey man has been sentenced to five years in New Jersey State Prison in connection with three separate crimes, authorities said. Deshoin Rowell, 22, of Northfield, was sentenced on Wednesday, May 31, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. 5,000-Acre Forest Fire Raging In South Jersey (Updated) Firefighters were battling a 5,000-acre wildfire in Bass River State Forest in Burlington County, authorities said. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is working to contain of a wildfire burning in the area of Allen Road. Football Star, 24, Dies Of Injuries From Trenton Shooting: Prosecutor A 24-year-old man from Mercer County died of injuries suffered in a shooting in Trenton earlier this month, authorities said. Justin Prescott Reed, of Ewing, died on May 22, as a result of injuries he sustained in the May 14 shooting on Brunswick Avenue, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said on Wednesday, May 31. Fatal Fire Investigated In Camden County Authorities are investigating a fatal fire in Camden County. The fire occurred Wednesday afternoon, May 31, in Laurel Springs, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said.
