Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Officer Dies Trying To Rescue 14-Year-Old Who Also Drowned In Massachusetts Pond A police officer drowned after going into a pond in Massachusetts to try to rescue a teenage boy who also died. The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 4 in the pond at Green Hill Park in Worcester. The officer who died has been identified as five-year department member Enmanuel "Manny" Familia, age 38, Worcester Police said at a news conference Friday. Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect For Westchester County With a line of potent storms moving from west to east late in the afternoon on Friday, June 4, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is now in effect for much of the region. It was issued at 3:05 p.m. and lasts until 8 p.m. Friday. It includes New York City as well as much of New Jersey, western Long Island as well as Westchester, Rockland, and Fairfield counties. Man Crossing Long Island Intersection Struck, Killed By Mack Truck A man was killed after being struck by a truck while he was crossing a busy Long Island intersection overnight. The incident happened on Thursday, June 3 at around 10:10 p.m. in Levittown. While attempting to cross northbound on Wantagh Avenue at Hempstead Turnpike, the 50-year-old man was struck by a 2000 Mack truck traveling westbound, Nassau County Police said.  The man suffered multiple trauma injuries to his body and was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:28 pm by a hospital physician, police said.
