Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

The quick-moving system will arrive on Wednesday morning, Dec. 9. One Killed In Three-Vehicle Long Island Crash One person was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Long Island. It happened on Monday, Dec. 7 at approximately 11:25 a.m. in Selden. John Swanson, 75, of Riverhead, was driving westbound on Route 25 in Selden when his 2019 Chevrolet van jumped the curb and struck a 1997 Dodge pickup truck and a parked vehicle on North Bicycle Path, Suffolk County Police said. Detectives believe Swanson may have suffered a medical event while driving, said police. He was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Potential Increases For Light Accumulating Snowfall This Week As temperatures remain colder than normal through midweek, there's now an increasing possibility for a brief round of light accumulating snowfall. The quick-moving system will sweep through the region on Wednesday morning, Dec. 9. Covid-19: Here's Latest CT Positive-Test Rate, New Rundown Of Cases By Communities, Counties The latest positive rate of those being tested for COVID-19 in Connecticut is 6.61 percent. The new data released late Monday afternoon, Dec. 7 covers Friday, Dec. 4 through Sunday, Dec. 6. A total of 23,021 tests were administered during that time, with 8,129 coming back positive (6.61 percentage). A total of 1,183 patients are currently hospitalized statewide, an increase of 33. Man Killed After Fight Outside Long Island Residence A man was killed after a fight broke out outside a Long Island residence. The incident happened on Sunday, Dec. 6 at approximately 11:10 a.m. in Coram. Police responded to a 911 call of an altercation between two men outside of the home located on West Yaphank Road, and found a resident of the house with serious injuries, Suffolk County Police Police said. Investigation Into Fatal Long Island Overdose Leads To Charges For Man, Woman A man and woman are facing charges after an investigation into a fatal drug overdose on Long Island that occurred on Saturday, Dec. 5 just before 7:30 p.m. in Massapequa, police announced.
