Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Long Island Man Killed After Falling Off Electric Scooter A Long Island man was killed after falling off an electric scooter and hitting his head at an intersection on Long Island. The incident happened on Saturday, Sept. 12 at around 2:15 p.m. in Great Neck. Emmanuelito Velayo, 56, of Great Neck, was riding the scooter southbound on Bayview Avenue at the intersection of Cuttermill Road when he fell and struck his head on the pavement, Nassau County Police said. He suffered a severe head injury and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead by a staff physician.

Long Island Man Stranded For Hours Rescued After Jet Ski Strikes Sandbar A Long Island man who was stranded for hours after his jet ski became disabled was rescued. Jeremy Ashraf, 30, of Rocky Point, was operating a 2020 Kawasaki jet ski in the Great South Bay when the vehicle struck a sandbar near Ridge Island and became disabled at approximately 7:35 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11.
