Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Long Island Man Killed After Falling Off Electric Scooter A Long Island man was killed after falling off an electric scooter and hitting his head at an intersection on Long Island. The incident happened on Saturday, Sept. 12 at around 2:15 p.m. in Great Neck. Emmanuelito Velayo, 56, of Great Neck, was riding the scooter southbound on Bayview Avenue at the intersection of Cuttermill Road when he fell and struck his head on the pavement, Nassau County Police said. He suffered a severe head injury and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead by a staff physician.

Man Injured In Two-Vehicle Crash At Busy Long Island Intersection A man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash at a busy Long Island intersection. It happened Saturday, Sept. 12 in North Patchogue. Edisson Chocho-Uzho, 24, of Patchogue, was driving a 2010 Acura southbound on North Ocean Avenue, attempted to make a left turn onto eastbound Shaber Road when the vehicle collided with a Kawasaki motorcycle traveling northbound on North Ocean Avenue, Suffolk County Police. Covid-19: Two Long Island Businesses Cited For Violations In New State Police, SLA Patrols Two Long Island establishments were cited for COVID-19 guideline violations in patrols conducted by State Police Task Force and State Liquor Authority on Friday, Sept. 11. Man, Woman Killed In Two-Vehicle Westchester Crash A man and woman were killed in a two-vehicle crash overnight in Westchester. It happened at around 11:50 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11 in Yonkers at the intersection of Yonkers Avenue at Walnut Street. Tropical Storm Paulette Expected To Become Hurricane As It Moves West Toward Bermuda Two tropical storms, a tropical depression, and three more disturbances are now active in the Atlantic. The National Hurricane Center announced Saturday morning, Sept. 12 that it has issued advisories on Tropical Storm Paulette, Tropical Storm Rene and Tropical Depression 19. Long Island Man Stranded For Hours Rescued After Jet Ski Strikes Sandbar A Long Island man who was stranded for hours after his jet ski became disabled was rescued. Jeremy Ashraf, 30, of Rocky Point, was operating a 2020 Kawasaki jet ski in the Great South Bay when the vehicle struck a sandbar near Ridge Island and became disabled at approximately 7:35 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11.
