Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Separate Earthquakes Felt In Connecticut Two earthquakes were felt this week in Connecticut - one in Fairfield County and the other in Hartford County. A strong quake off the coast of the Alaskan peninsula that hit 7.8 on the Richter scale early in the morning Wednesday, July 22 registered on Westport’s seismograph. Hundreds of other seismographs around the world picked up on the Alaska quake. The other earthquake, in Newington, on Tuesday, July 21, came in at 1.6 on the Richter scale, making it a “Microearthquake,” and undetectable by humans. Severe Weather Alert: New Round Of Strong Thunderstorms With Damaging Winds Expected A new round of strong to severe thunderstorms and showers are expected to sweep through the area. The time frame for the scattered storms across eastern New York, Connecticut and western New England is in the afternoon into the evening on Thursday, July 23. Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued With Damaging 70 MPH Wind Gusts Possible A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for the entire region by the National Weather Service. The watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Wednesday, July 22 for the areas in yellow in the image above. Damaging winds with gusts up to 70 miles per hour that could cause power outages are the main threat. Lightning, large hail and heavy downpours are all possible. Covid-19: Travelers From 10 More States Added To NY/NJ/CT Quarantine List, Bringing Total To 31 Travelers from 10 more states with high positive testing rates for COVID-19 have now been added to the joint quarantine order for out-of-state travelers to New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Man Killed When SUV Crashes Into Tractor-Trailer On I-87, Police Say A 51-year-old man was killed after he lost control of his SUV and crashed into a tractor-trailer on a stretch of I-87, state police said. It happened in Orange County around 3 a.m. on Monday, July 20 in the town of Tuxedo. An investigation at the scene revealed that Sheik A. Bacchus, 51, of the Bronx, was operating his 2013 Dodge Durango northbound, in the area of mile marker 38, when he lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason, state police said.
