Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Woman Suffers Head Injuries After Being Hit By Garbage Truck At Busy Long Island Intersection A woman was rushed to the hospital after being hit by a garbage truck on Long Island. It happened Friday, Jan. 24 at around 6:30 a.m. in Farmingdale. The 68-year-old woman was struck by the garbage truck as it was making a right-hand turn westbound on Fulton Street at the intersection of Main Street, according to Nassau County Police. The victim suffered injuries to her head and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Man Killed In Crash That Caused Hours-Long LIE Closure Details have been released on a fatal crash that caused the hours-long closure of a stretch of the Long Island Expressway. It happened around 2:15 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24 in Holtsville. The driver was operating a 2018 Chevy westbound on the Long Island Expressway near exit 63, when he lost control and struck the median divider. The victim was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where he died from his injuries.  His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. It happened just before 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24 in Oakdale. George Collins was attempting to cross eastbound Sunrise Highway Service Road, approximately a half-mile mile west of Oakdale Bohemia Road, when he was struck by two vehicles, Suffolk County Police said. Irene Pastor, was operating a 2018 Hyundai in the left lane when she struck Collins, according to police. Missing Suffolk Teen Found Dead In Nassau County A Long Island teenager earlier this week who went missing has been found dead. Paige Relyea, of Nesconset, was reported missing by a family member on Monday, Jan. 20 at approximately 12:45 p.m., Suffolk County Police said. Relyea, 19, was last seen leaving her Premier Court home on Sunday, Jan. 19 at approximately 12:30 p.m. in a 2009 gray Toyota Corolla On Friday, Jan. 24, police said Relyea was located deceased on Thursday, Jan. 23 in Syosset.
