Man Nabbed After Stealing Clothes, Other Items From College Dorms In Purchase: Police A 24-year-old man faces burglary charges after stealing items from college dormitories in Westchester, police said. Bronx resident Matthew Williams was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 2 for committing burglaries at Manhattanville College in the hamlet of Purchase on Saturday, Nov. 4, according to Harrison Police. Hochul Warns NYers To Be Prepare For Heavy Rain, Gusty Winds, Possible Flooding From New Storm Ahead of yet another severe storm predicted to batter much of New York, Gov. Kathy Hochul is warning residents to batten down the hatches and prepare for several inches of rain, gusty winds, and possible flooding. 'We Are Disappointed': DPW Worker Sentenced For Hit-Run That Killed Yonkers Teen A former public works employee has been sentenced for his role in a hit-run crash that killed a beloved 16-year-old boy in Westchester. Ramp Between I-87, Saw Mill River Parkway To Close For Several Days In Elmsford Motorists are being alerted that a ramp in Westchester leading from Interstate 87 to a busy parkway will shut down for several days. The ramp from Interstate 87 to Exit 8A (northbound Saw Mill River Parkway) in Elmsford will close beginning on Friday, Dec. 15, the New York State Department of Transportation announced. The closure will then continue until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20, officials said. The five-day closure is to allow for ramp maintenance. Motorists are asked to instead use the posted detour to State Route 119 as an alternate route.

A section of a busy parkway in Westchester has reopened following an investigation into a serious crash. Northern Westchester resident Amy Bridget (nee Cleary) Dillane, a resident of Pleasantville, died on Sunday, Dec. 10 at the age of 48 following an eight-year battle with cancer, according to her obituary. Over 2,000 Tickets Issued For Illegal School Bus Passes In 1 Month In Yonkers Only a month after a city in Westchester commenced the largest school bus safety program in the county, more than 2,000 drivers have been issued tickets for illegally passing the stopped vehicles.
