He crashed into the back of one of their patrol cars on Saturday, Dec. 23.  Melvin Ruiz Chaperon, 38, is accused of crashing into the patrol car just after 11:15 p.m. on I-93 in Canterbury, New Hampshire., New Hampshire State Police said.  A trooper was on the side of the road helping another driver when Ruiz slammed into the rear end of the cruiser, photos from the wreck show. Newton Man Dies Days After House Fire; Broken Lamp Likely To Blame For Blaze A Newton man who was trapped in a Newton house fire on Dec. 13 has died of his injuries, authorities announced on Tuesday, Dec. 26.  The blaze began about 10 a.m. at 125 Allen Ave. One of the people inside escaped the conflagration, but the older man — who is in his 70s — was left trapped inside. He had limited mobility and needed to be rescued from the flames by a firefighter, the State Fire Marshal said.  The man died on Dec. 23. His name was not released. 'Loved By So Many': Friends Remember Oxford Man Killed In CT Dirt Bike Crash Authorities have identified the 22-year-old Oxford, Massachusetts, man who died after crashing his dirt bike at Quaddick State Forest in Connecticut just days before Christmas.  Steven Zografos was riding in in Windham County, in the town of Thompson, on Saturday, Dec. 23, when he crashed with another dirt bike rider just before 4 p.m., NBC Connecticut reported. He died at the scene.  A 21-year-old was seriously injured in the crash and was airlifted to an area hospital. He is expected to survive, the report said. Man Turned Massachusetts College Jobs Into An Illegal Fortune, Now He's Going To Prison: Feds A 53-year-old Connecticut man will spend the next eight months in prison after he admitted to taking bribes to sell contracts to build, maintain, and repair three colleges in Massachusetts, federal authorities said.  Floyd Young, of the city of Shelton in Fairfield County, pleaded guilty in August 2020 to one count of conspiracy and three counts of bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said.
