Newly Minted Millionaire: Lynn Man Wins $1M Lottery Fortune A Lynn man says he plans to turn his $1 million windfall into a new home after he won the seven-figure prize in the lottery.  Fernando Duran Ramos won the money playing the “$10,000,000 Lucky Bucks” $20 scratch-off tickets, the Massachusetts Lottery said.  Duran Ramos elected to take the $650,000 lump sum before taxes rather than the annuity. He wants to buy a house with the cash, lottery officials said.  He bought the ticket at 7-Eleven at 100 Lynn St. in Peabody. The store will collect a $10,000 check for selling the winner.

Tewksbury Man Killed In Reading Wreck On I-93: Police A 41-year-old Tewksbury man was killed in a crash on I-93 in Reading Thursday, Sept. 28, when a box truck slammed into the back of his pick-up, authorities said.  Michael Murphy was confirmed dead at the scene of the 1 a.m. crash near the Commerce Way ramp, Massachusetts State Police said.  A 51-year-old Vermont man was behind the wheel of the box truck that hit Murphy.
