2 Men Destroy Popeyes Over Wrong Order; Police In Central Mass Ask For Help Police in Worcester are asking the public to help them identify two men they say trashed a Popeyes after the restaurant ran out of jalapeno peppers. The two men came to the drive-through of the 622 Park Ave fast-food restaurant on April 29, but they became angry after they learned their chicken sandwich did not have the jalapenos they'd ordered, reports said. 2 Children Pulled From Burning Car In Central Mass; Police Thank Rescuers Police in Worcester County say two children and a driver are alive today thanks to five good samaritans who risked their own safety to pull them from a burning car on Monday, July 10. Charlton police were called to a car crash just after 6:30 p.m. near 338 Worcester Road. 'Once In A Lifetime Partner': Police Dog Who Earned Medal Of Merit Dies In Western Mass Dies A police dog who survived a stabbing and viscous beating has died following nine years of service in Hampden County. Jori died on June 29 after a brief illness, the Holyoke Police Department announced on Facebook. The beloved pooch earned the medal of merit after he survived an attack in 2015 that veterinarians thought was likely fatal. Quick-Thinking Manager Saves Suicidal Man From Connecticut River In Western Mass A 22-year-old man tried to commit suicide by jumping from the North End Bridge in Springfield on Sunday, July 9, but he was saved thanks to the head of a waterfront club, police said. The aptly named Benjamin Quick moved fast when he heard someone screaming from the Connecticut River just after 7:30 p.m. The executive director of Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club jumped into a boat and sped out to lend a hand. Dead Body Found Inside Burning Belchertown Home Fire crews in Hampshire County found a dead body inside a Belchertown home after they raced to put out the fire consuming a house at 42 Daniel Square, authorities said. Belchertown crews called for mutual aid, and nearby firehouses in Amherst, Bondsville, Granby, Ludlow, Palmer, Pelham, Three Rivers, and Westover provided mutual assistance to fight the flames. Child Porn: Central Mass Man Who Tried To Meet Agent's Child For Sex Sentenced To Prison A Worcester man who admitted to propositioning an undercover agent's underage daughter for sex will serve 12 years in prison, federal authorities announced on Monday, July 10. Fire Crews Battling Blaze At Western Mass Home Firefighters were battling a two-alarm blaze in Hampshire County on Monday afternoon, July 10. Belchertown fire crews asked for support after 1:30 p.m. as the blaze raged through the 42 Daniel Square home. Granby firefighters answered the call with tanker trucks and additional personnel to assist. It's unclear if anyone was injured or if the home was occupied. Moped Rider Killed In Gardner Crash Identified As 38-Year-Old Central Mass Man State police released the name of a 38-year-old Worcester County man killed on Thursday, July 6, in a Gardner crash when he was pinned underneath a car, authorities said. Bradley Arsenault, of Baldwinville, was hit just after 8 p.m. by a Honda Pilot at 591 West Broadway near Pete’s Tire Barn in Gardner, the Worcester County District Attorney's Office announced Monday. Western Mass Man Killed In Weekend Wreck Remembered As Loving Father, Friend State police have identified the man killed in a Friday, July 7, motorcycle versus SUV crash on I-91 in Springfield as a 23-year-old father from the city. Dayquan Miguel Ortiz died after his motorcycle slammed into the back of a Jeep just after 2 p.m. near mile marker 7 in the southbound lane of the highway, state police said on Monday. The impact ejected Ortiz from the bike and threw him onto the pavement. Rescuers tried to save his life, but they couldn't revive him.
