Drugs Through Mail: CT Man Who Admitted To Mailing Cocaine To Mom's House Gets 10 Years A Connecticut man who pleaded guilty to shipping cocaine through the mail from Puerto Rico to his mother's house and several other residences will spend a decade in prison, federal authorities announced. New Haven resident Jean Mangual-Castro, age 35, of West Haven, admitted in September to one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine, according to the United States Attorney for Connecticut. 2 Boats Collide On Mascuppic Lake In Tyngsborough, 1 Person Seriously Injured A boater was seriously injured after two crafts collided Friday afternoon, May 19, on Mascuppic Lake in Tynsborough.  Tyngsborough police and firefighters were called to the lake just before 5 p.m. after the collision. Both boaters were able to make it to shore. Authorities did not release their names.  One of the boaters was seriously injured, and paramedics rushed them to an area hospital with serious injuries. The other did not need medical attention, Tyngsborough police said.  Massachusetts Environmental Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Man Shot In Western Mass, Police Searching For Shooter A man was injured Thursday night in Springfield, and police are on the hunt for the shooter.  Police responded to the 900 block of Worthington Street after receiving a Shotspotter activation and found a man on the ground with a bullet wound, Springfield authorities said. Responders rushed him to Baystate Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.  Springfield detectives are investigating the shooting.
