Teacher Charged With Raping Springfield Student Decade Ago: Reports Multiple outlets reported that a 44-year-old teacher is accused of raping a student at New Leadership Charter School more than 10 years ago. Man Dies After Running From Troopers, Hiding In Westfield Woods: Police Police found the body of a 24-year-old in the woods this week after he bolted from a traffic stop in Westfield on Sunday, Feb. 5, authorities said. Yoniel Monsanto Maldonaldo, of Westfield, was pulled over around midnight in a wooded and swampy area near Union Street, Massachusetts State Polie said. Falling Tree Kills Baby Riding In Car In Western Mass: DA's Office A infant was killed Friday afternoon, Feb. 3, when a falling tree crashed into the car they were riding in, authorities said. The incident happened just before noon along Route 57 (Feeding Hills Road) in Southwick, MA, Hamden County District Attorney Anthony Gulluni said. The driver, a 23-year-old woman from Winstead, CT, was rushed to an area hospital with serious injuries. Gulluni said the child was the woman's niece. A portion of Route 57 near Foster Road was shut down Friday afternoon as police cleared the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
