She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Celebrity Chef To Open Restaurant In White Plains Celebrity chef David Burke, known for his award-winning restaurants and stints on TV's "Top Chef," is opening his first Westchester County restaurant. Burke is planning to open the second Red Horse restaurant, with the first being in Rumson, New Jersey, early next year in the Opus Westchester in White Plains, the chef said. The 7,900-foot restaurant will seat 200 in the space that once housed BLT steakhouse. Shelton Man Nabbed For Pulling Gun At Monroe Wine Shop, Police Say Shoppers at a Fairfield County wine shop received quite a scare when they were quickly rushed to an adjacent store after a man walked inside and pointed a loaded gun. The incident took place in Monroe around 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, at the 574 Wines on Route 11. According to Lt. Michael Sweeney, of the Monore Police, the man identified as Philip Caseria, age 60, of Shelton, pulled his van into the parking lot of the store and parked sideways blocking vehicles. Duo Nabbed For Selling THC Chocolate Bars At East Meadow Store, Police Say Two men have been nabbed for allegedly selling THC chocolate bars and marijuana at an area convenience store. The arrests took place in East Meadow around 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14 at the 1212 Exotic Convenience Store. 24-Year-Old Killed After Car Crashes Into Concrete Pillar In Brookfield, Police Say A 24-year-old Connecticut man was killed after crashing his Kia Forte into a concrete pillar in Fairfield County. Litchfield County resident Caleb Anderson, of New Milford, was killed around 9:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14, in North Brookfield. According to state police, Anderson lost control of his vehicle on Route 7 for an unknown reason and drove into the median, and struck the Junction Road overpass concrete support pillar. Man Accused Of Making Bomb Threat To Bridgeport Ferry A Connecticut man has been charged with an act of terrorism after allegedly making a bomb threat to a ferry system, including one in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Bridgeport around noon on Wednesday, Sept. 14. According to Capt. Kevin Gilleran of the Bridgeport Police, a bomb threat was made against vessels operated by the Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Steamboat Company through the department 911 center. Fire Breaks Out At Hicksville Days Inn Firefighters made quick work of a blaze at a Long Island hotel room. The incident took place in Hicksville around 5:50 p.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at the Days Inn on South Oyster Bay Road.
