Long Island Duo Attempts To Rob Man With Large Machete, Police Say
Two Long Island men were arrested for allegedly attempting to rob a man by holding a large machete over his head.
Johel Castro, age 45, and Nelson Castro-Guerra, age 49, both of Freeport, were arrested around 2:16 a.m., Sunday, May 9 by Nassau County Police for an attempted robbery in Freeport, police said.
According to detectives, the 38-year-old victim was walking in the vicinity of North Main Street and Leonard Avenue when he was approached from behind by the two men.

Officials Condemn CT Home Where Woman Was Found Dead With 52 Cats, Dog
In what started off as a routine medical call for police, turned into an untimely death, the discovery of 52 cats, 12 of them dead, and a house condemned.
The incident started around 11 a.m., Saturday, May 8, in New Haven County when Wolcott Police responded to a home on Spring Road for a medical assistant, Chief Edward Stephens said.
When officers arrived they found that the female resident in her 50s had died, in what turned out to be an untimely death.

New Mexican Restaurant Making Splash In Westchester
A new Mexican restaurant has opened in Southern Westchester, the second in just a couple of months, but the more the merrier when it comes to sinking your teeth in a good taco or burrito.
Bello's Mexican Grill, in White Plains, is owned by a pair of brothers who specialize in tacos al pastor, or pork that is shaved off a rotating spit.
A bright spot is that all menu items are fresh -- nothing frozen -- and made to order.

CT Mom Accused Of Killing 3-Year-Old Son
A Connecticut mother has been accused of killing her young son.
Hartford County resident Alesha Cain, age 30, of Manchester, was arrested on Friday, May 7, in connection with the death of her 3-year-old son, who was found unresponsive when police responded to her home on Thanksgiving 2020, said Manchester Police Lt. Ryan Shea.
According to Shea, police found the child around 2:43 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 26, when they responded to her Oakland Street apartment.
