Two people were killed in a crash Sunday night, May 26 in Cecil County, Maryland State Police said.
A Toyota Camry was heading west in the left turn lane when it was struck by an eastbound BMW 528 on Pulaski Highway (Route 40) at Wells Camp Road in North East around 9 p.m., State Police said.
A passenger in the Toyota Camry, Virginia Thomas, 61, of North East, was airlifted to a local trauma center where she was pronounced dead. The second person who died was a female passenger of the BMW, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of kin.

A father and son drowned Memorial Day Weekend at Lake Anna, authorities in Louisa County said.
The 42-year-old man had attempted to rescue his 14-year-old son around 1:10 p.m. Saturday, May 25, just before witnesses lost sight of them both, the county sheriff's office said.
LCSO Marine Units, Mineral Volunteer Fire Department, Lake Anna Volunteer Rescue, Department of Wildlife Resources, and Spotsylvania County Fire & EMS Dive Team divers helped find and recover the bodies of the father and son, who were pronounced dead on the scene.

A Maryland man has been arrested in Virginia after assaulting and seriously injuring an officer overnight, police said.
The officer was conducting parking enforcement on the 2900 block of Columbia Pike in Arlington when he saw 29-year-old Otis Brown, of Waldorf, MD, confronting security of a nearby business around 12:50 a.m. Sunday, May 26, county police said.
