Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Two Killed In Sunrise Highway Crash Two people were killed in an overnight crash on a busy Long Island roadway. It happened around 9 p.m. Friday, May 21 in Bohemia. Kazimierz Wiszowaty, age 61, of Holtsville, left his disabled 2005 Toyota sedan on the right shoulder of eastbound Sunrise Highway (Route 27), Suffolk County Police said. ID Released For Man Killed In Officer-Involved Long Island Shooting The identity has been released of a man killed in an officer-involved Long Island shooting. A Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct officer was dispatched to a 911 call reporting a suspicious person lying on the back seat of a vehicle in Manorville in the vicinity of 67 Bauer Ave. at approximately 10:45 p.m. Thursday, May 20. Covid-19: New Time Frame Provided For When Vaccine Booster Shots May Be Necessary Executives and experts at the center of COVID-19 pandemic response are now providing a more specific possible time frame for when Americans who were first to receive a vaccine dose may need to take a booster shot. Two Pedestrians Suffer Traumatic Injuries After Being Hit By Pickup Truck On Hempstead Turnpike Two pedestrians suffered traumatic injuries after they were hit by a vehicle near a shopping center on a stretch of the Hempstead Turnpike. The incident happened around noontime on Wednesday, May 19 in Levittown. A 46-year-old man driving a 2005 Ford pickup truck was exiting the Tri-County Bazaar parking lot located at 3041 Hempstead Turnpike when he struck a bus stop enclosure, Nassau County Police said. It happened Tuesday, May 18 at about 8:40 p.m. in Bay Shore. Child Found Unconscious In Pool At Long Island Home A child was found unconscious at a Long Island home. The boy, whose age has not yet been released, was pulled from a rear yard pool at about 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, May 18 on Imperial Drive in Baldwin Harbor, Nassau County Police said. CPR was performed by First Precinct police officers at the scene and the boy was transported in a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a nearby hospital. Missing Long Island Man Found Dead A Long Island man who was missing for more than three weeks has been found dead, according to police. Joseph Clemente, age 44, had last been seen on Sunday, April 25 after taking a taxi to a shopping center on Sunrise Highway in Copiague. He was reported missing by his family on Wednesday, April 28, according to Suffolk County Police. The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Brentwood man with schizoaffective disorder.
