Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Worker Killed In Accident At Long Island Business An employee was killed in an accident at a Long Island business. It happened on Friday, Oct. 9 at approximately 4:50 p.m. in Central Islip. Osvaldo Flores-Osguin, age 45, of Brentwood, was repairing a tire on a forklift at T&D Supplies, located at 1599 Ferndale Blvd., when it exploded and struck him, Suffolk County Police said. Flores-Osguin was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was notified and is investigating.

Covid-19: Here's Hudson Valley Three-Day Testing Trend, Number Of New Cases In Each County The number of positive test results for COVID-19 has remained steady in the Hudson Valley, according to three-day data released Friday, Oct. 9. In "Red Zone" focus areas in four counties, the positivity rate over the past three weeks has been 6.4 percent, compared to the rest of the state at 0.91 percent. Suspect At Large After Teenager Shot In Broad Daylight On Long Island An investigation is underway after a teenager was shot in broad daylight on Long Island. The incident happened on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 4:50 p.m. in Rockville Centre. Officers from the Rockville Centre Police Department responded to a call on Meehan Lane for a male victim who was shot. Upon arrival, officers located the 19-year-old who had been shot in his left leg, the Nassau County Police said. Man Charged With Aggravated DWI In Area Twice In Three Days, State Police Say A man involved in a hit-and-run crash and police chase was charged with aggravated DWI twice in the span of three days in the area, state police said. On Monday, Oct. 5 at approximately 1:10 p.m., State Police Middletown responded to Garnet Health in the town of Wallkill for a report of a hit-and-run in the parking lot. The vehicle was observed to be traveling on East Main Street in Wallkill. 21-Year-Old Man Injured In Shooting On Residential Long Island Street A man was injured in a shooting on a residential Long Island street overnight. It happened Thursday, Oct. 8 approximately 7:50 p.m. in North Bellport. Suffolk County Police officers responded to 911 call of a man shot on the 600 block of Michigan Avenue. The 21-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. ID Released For Man Shot, Killed In Broad Daylight Inside Vehicle On Long Island The identity has been released of a man shot and killed while sitting inside a vehicle in broad daylight on Long Island. The incident occurred just before 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 5 in Hempstead. According to Nassau County Police detectives, Hempstead Police officers responded to 105 Terrace Ave. after a report of gunshots fired. Police ID Suspect Wanted For Fatal Shooting Of Long Island Man Police have identified a suspect wanted for a fatal shooting on Long Island over the summer. The incident occurred around 4:45 a.m. on Friday, July 24 in Uniondale. That's when officers responded to a call for possible shots fired at a residence on Tulip Court.
