Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Covid-19: Long Island Sees Another Uptick In Positive Testing Rate; Latest Totals By County Long Island has seen a new uptick in the positivity rate for COVID-19 testing, according to newly released data on Saturday, Sept. 12. Of a total of 102,925 test results reported on Friday, Sept. 11 to New York State, 849, or 0.82 percent, were positive. Man, Woman Killed In Two-Vehicle Westchester Crash A man and woman were killed in a two-vehicle crash overnight in Westchester. It happened at around 11:50 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11 in Yonkers at the intersection of Yonkers Avenue at Walnut Street. Yonkers Police Department officers responded to the scene after a Westchester County Department of Public Safety report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Tropical Storm Paulette Expected To Become Hurricane As It Moves West Toward Bermuda Two tropical storms, a tropical depression, and three more disturbances are now active in the Atlantic. The National Hurricane Center announced Saturday morning, Sept. 12 that it has issued advisories on Tropical Storm Paulette, Tropical Storm Rene and Tropical Depression 19. Long Island Man Stranded For Hours Rescued After Jet Ski Strikes Sandbar A Long Island man who was stranded for hours after his jet ski became disabled was rescued. Jeremy Ashraf, 30, of Rocky Point, was operating a 2020 Kawasaki jet ski in the Great South Bay when the vehicle struck a sandbar near Ridge Island and became disabled at approximately 7:35 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11. Covid-19: Popular Restaurant/Bar Near UConn Temporarily Closes After Employees Test Positive A popular University of Connecticut restaurant and bar announced has closed temporarily after two employees tested COVID-19 positive. Ted's Restaurant & Bar in Storrs said in a post on Instagram that it is working "side by side with the health department throughout the pandemic and remain in direct contact so they can guide us to a safe reopening." Covid-19: Second Staffer At School In Fairfield County Tests Positive A second staff member at a school in Fairfield County has tested positive for COVID-19, leading to a shift to remote learning for more classrooms. Coleytown Elementary School in Westport was closed Friday, Sept. 11 after the first positive case in a staffer was confirmed earlier in the morning. The Farmingdale School District said it was notified late in the afternoon Thursday, Sept. 10 of the confirmed case. Long Island Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash A Long Island man was killed after his vehicle crashed into a guardrail and overturned. It happened Friday, Sept. 11 at about 1:10 p.m. in Holbrook. Edward Keith, 58, of Selden, was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram northbound on Nicolls Road when the vehicle left the road, struck the guardrail and overturned at the intersection of Patchogue Holbrook Road, Suffolk County Police said.
