Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Wind Gusts Could Bring Down Trees, Power Lines In Westchester The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory that is in effect until 6 p.m.Monday. Northwest winds of 20 to 25 miles per hour could gust to around 50 miles per hour, which could bring down trees, limbs and power lines, the weather service said in the advisory. A Wind Advisory is issued when there are sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph or gusts of 46 to 57 mph are expected or occurring. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles, the weather service said, advising motorists to use extra caution. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Police ID Teen Killed By Pickup Truck On Route 17 State police have identified a 15-year-old girl who was killed Thursday night after being hit by a pickup truck while crossing Route 17 in Wallkill Thursday night. Hope Vandermark, 15 of Middletown was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck in the westbound lane by a 2002 Chevy pickup truck driven by 20-year-old Nicholas Hurst of Bloomingburg. Hurst was not charged in the incident. The investigation revealed that he was not impaired, distracted or speeding. The investigation is ongoing.

Bruce Helmes Of Katonah, 95, Architect, Community Volunteer Bruce Philip Helmes, an architect, World War II veteran and a native of Katonah who was active in the community for 70 years, died on May 8. He was 95. Born April 25, 1922 on a kitchen table in a second-floor apartment over a woodwork shop at 223 Katonah Avenue, which 50 years later he renovated into offices now known as The Courtyard.
