Car Becomes Entangled In Power Lines After Crash In Yonkers, Causes Multi-Day Repair A crash caused quite a complex scene at a Westchester intersection after a vehicle became entangled in utility poles and power lines, police said. The crash happened on Friday, Feb. 2 around 10:30 p.m., when a vehicle lost control at the intersection of Cook, Mile Square, and Homewood Avenues in Yonkers, according to Yonkers Police. Lane Closures Scheduled For Section Of Sprain Brook Parkway In Elmsford, Mount Pleasant A section of a busy parkway in Westchester is scheduled to be shuttered by upcoming lane closures, officials announced. A series of single and double lane closures are scheduled for the southbound Sprain Brook Parkway between Route 100 in Mount Pleasant and Route 100C in Elmsford on Tuesday, Feb. 6, the New York State Department of Transportation announced. The closures will last from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will allow crew to perform construction work.

Blaze Tears Through Multi-Family Residence In Peekskill A multi-family residence in Northern Westchester was gutted by an intense blaze that took hours to extinguish, fire officials said. The fire began on Sunday, Feb. 4 around 10:15 a.m. at a two-and-a-half-story residence on Orchard Street in Peekskill, according to the city's fire department. Yonkers Store Shut Down After Discovery Of THC Vapes, Illegal Products: Police A business in Westchester was shut down following the seizure of several illegal products, including THC vapes, police announced. Former Fire Chief Of Hudson Valley Department Dies A fire department in the Hudson Valley has announced the death of one of its former chiefs. In a social media post on Sunday, Feb. 4, the Brewster Fire Department in Putnam County announced the death of former Chief and Commissioner Thomas Palmer. Palmer led the department from 1996 to 1998, the department said. More information about Palmer's death, including funeral arrangements, has not yet been announced. This is a developing story. Man Rushed To Hospital By Helicopter After Being Pinned Between Car, Building In Hudson Valley A man was critically injured after becoming pinned between a car and a building in the Hudson Valley, firefighters said.
