Murphy A 19-year-old man from Bergen County is among the Americans reported missing in Israel among the Hamas attacks, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy said. Bike Thief Busted In Bayonne: Police A 47-year-old Bayonne man was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Oct. 10 with committing multiple thefts and a burglary last month, police said. On Sunday, Sept. 10, Bransky stole an electric bicycle from a porch on West 9th Street after cutting a chain that secured the bicycle, police said. On Thursday, Sept. 28, Bransky removed two tool boxes from a parked vehicle on 43rd Street and Avenue E. Bransky was charged with two counts of theft and one count of burglary, police said. He was also charged with possession of narcotics, police said.

Bloomfield Man Convicted Of Murdering Gas Station Attendant: Prosecutors A 36-year-old Bloomfield man was convicted of murdering Jahque Benbow, a 23-year-old gas station attendant in May 2022, prosecutors announced. On Tuesday, Oct. 10, a jury found Lamar Sommers guilty of murder in the first degree, conspiracy to commit murder and two weapons charges, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II said. He faces a minimum of 30 years in prison when he is sentenced in December, Stephens said. Power Players! $50K Lotto Ticket Sold In Englewood While no one won the big Powerball jackpot on Monday, Oct. 9, three North Jersey lottery players are not complaining. Two tickets sold in Bergen County and one sold in Warren County matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball drawn winning the $50,000 third-tier prize. The tickets were sold at West Hudson Inc. in Englewood, Circle P Food Store in New Milford and Family Food Mart in Hackettstown. The winning numbers for the drawing were: 16, 34, 46, 55 and 67. Newly Minted Millionaires! Passaic County Lotto Players Win Big Two Passaic County lottery players are feeling like a million dollars. Their tickets matched all five white balls in the Friday, Oct. 6 Mega Millions drawing, winning $1 million. One of the tickets was purchased with the megaplier option, multiplying the prize to $3 million. The tickets were purchased at Jackpocket in Hewitt. A lottery ticket sold at Freedom News in Jersey City matched four of the white balls and the Gold Mega Ball, winning $10,000. The winning numbers were: 12, 24, 46, 57, and 66. 16-Year-Old Newark Teen Fatally Struck On Garden State Parkway: State Police A 16-year-old teenage boy from Newark was fatally struck on the Garden State Parkway in Irvington on Monday, Oct. 9, state police said. At 9:24 p.m., state troopers responded to the Garden State Parkway North 143C ramp, Detective Jeffrey Lebron said. An investigation revealed a vehicle was traveling northbound when the 16-year-old entered the roadway and was struck, suffering fatal injuries, Lebron said. The accident remains under investigation, Lebron said.
