An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. Four tickets sold in North Jersey matched four of the five white balls and the Power Ball drawn winning the $50,000 second-tier prize. The tickets were sold at Lotto.com in Jersey City, Frank Fine Wines and Food in Haledon, Quick Stop in Haskell and Nana Pena Grocery Deli Market in Paterson. Six-Year-Old Newark Boy With Autism Missing: Police (Look Inside) Alimou Diallo, a 6-year-old Newark boy diagnosed with autism, has been missing since Monday morning, Sept. 18, police said. Diallo was last seen at 2 a.m. in his residence on the 600 block of Elizabeth Avenue, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said. Alimou was wearing a blue t-shirt and a white diaper. His mother noticed him missing at 5 a.m., Fragé said. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Diallo is asked to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-695-8477.

Crossing Guard Struck By Vehicle: Bayonne PD A crossing guard was struck by a car after helping kids cross the street on Monday morning, Sept. 18, authorities said. At 8:30 a.m., the 63-year-old crossing guard was hit by a 4-door white sedan on West 56th Street and Avenue C in Bayonne, police said. The crossing guard fell onto the hood of the car before falling to the street, police said. The driver stopped his vehicle and assisted her to the sidewalk before leaving the scene toward Jersey City, police said. Shelly Widder, 50-Year-Old Fanwood Resident, Dies Months After Husband Shelly Widder, a 50-year-old Fanwood resident, died on Thursday, Sept. 7 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, according to her obituary. Shelly was predeceased by her husband Charles, who died in in April. She is survived by her four children, Charles, 22, Hayden, 20, Colin, 17, and Claire, 15. Police Pursuit Ends In Overturned Vehicle, Arrests: Newark PD Two vehicles attempted to outrun Newark police on Wednesday, Sept. 13, resulting in two arrests and an overturned vehicle, authorities said.
