An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Arlington Admirals Marching Band Repeats As State Champs LAGRANGEVILLE, N.Y. -- The Arlington High School Marching Band once again brought home first place.For the second year in a row, the band won the Governor's Cup in the National Class from the New York State Field Band Conference Championship in Syracuse last week. The competition took place on October 29 at the Carrier Dome at Syracuse University. Edward Brundage, 91, Ossining Native, World War II Veteran OSSINING, N.Y. -- Edward William Brundage, 91, passed away peacefully on Oct. 23. Brundage was born in Ossining to Edward and Lucy Brundage. He was a proud member of the United Staes Marine Corps who served during World War II and was on the Inaugural Honor Flight. Brundage was a devoted Catholic and a past Grand Knight of the St. William Council Knights of Columbus. He was passionate about the pro-life cause and spent many days praying the rosary in front of Planned Parenthood. BioBus Visits Elmsford School ELMSFORD, N.Y. --Students at the Alice E. Grady School recently got to learn about science...on the bus. The BioBus visited the school last Friday thanks to Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, as part of its Day For Doing Good service initiative. The mobile bus is equipped with a high-powered microscope and staffed by scientists. Students experienced hands-on, standards-aligned lab sessions, which were offered throughout the morning. Mildred Giuffrida, 98, Millwood Mildred T. Giuffrida was born in Brooklyn to John and Antoinette Lotierzo on Aug. 14, 1919 and died on Oct. 30. She was one of twelve children. Giuffrida and her husband, Dr. Joseph Giuffrida were married on August 15, 1943. They continued to live in Brooklyn where they raised their five children until 1976, when they moved to Millwood. Their home was described as always being open to family and friends. She was known for her unending hospitality and generosity. She was known for ger warm smile and genuine kindness. Lacrosse Classic Leaves 'No Man Down' At Byram Hills HS A lacrosse tournament in Armonk will help veterans get the homes they need.Byram Hills is hosting the 4th annual "No Man Down Lacrosse Classic" on Sunday, Nov. 5. The tournament includes 52 top youth and high school teams from around the tri-state area, including many teams that played in the 2016 sectionals. The tournament has raised more than $125,000 for various veterans charities.
