An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. Man Charged With Assault Misses Yorktown Court Appearance A man turned himself into Yorktown Police Tuesday after two bench warrants were issued when he failed to appear in court. Joseph Franco, 40, of Greenwich, Conn., failed to appear in court on Aug. 31 after being charged with assault in the third degree and criminal contempt in the second degree, police said. Franco was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court on Sept. 7.

Man Faces Felony DWI Charge After Crashing Car In Woods, Yorktown PD Says A 60-year old Carmel man was charged two felonies after he crashed his car into the woods Sunday morning, Yorktown Police say.
