A New Jersey Lottery player in Middlesex County is nearly $3 million richer after hitting the Jersey Cash 5 jackpot. The lucky player matched all five numbers in the drawing Monday, Aug. 24, winning the $2,975,145 jackpot, New Jersey Lottery officials said. The winning numbers were 01, 07, 08, 16 and 21. A 43-year-old Whiting man died after they were struck by a vehicle in Manchester, authorities announced Tuesday, Aug. 25. At 9:37 a.m., on Sunday, Aug. 9, a pedestrian was struck at the intersection of County Route 530 and Swift Circle in Whiting, Manchester police said.
