An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Yorktown Police Issue 35 Tickets To Curb Distracted Driving YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Yorktown Police Department and the Alliance for Safe Kids are teaming up to curb distracted driving. Edgemont Native Named New Assistant Principal At Ardsley Middle School ARDSLEY, N.Y. -- Jennifer Goldenberg is the new assistant principal of Ardsley Middle School. The Ardsley Board of Education appointed Goldenberg, who will take over on July 1. Yorktown Man, 23, Pulled Over For Loud Muffler Charged With Felony DWI YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Yorktown man was charged with felony DWI after police pulled him over for having a loud muffler and speeding Sunday. Christopher Walker, 23, was charged with a felony because he had a previous conviction in the last 10 years. He was also charged with driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .18, a felony. Walker was released on his own recognizance and is due back in Yorktown Town Court on May 9.

Mahopac Man Uses Vehicle Without Interlock Device, Yorktown Police Say YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Mahopac man was charged with multiple traffic violations, including operating his vehicle without an interlock device, after a car accident on Route 35 Friday. August Joseph Wines, 42, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle without an interlock device, a misdemeanor, refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test, speeding, not wearing a seatbelt and driving on the shoulder, all violations. Following the accident, Wines was transferred to Westchester Medical Center, where he was arrested and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court on May 11.
