Authorities ID Man Dead In NJ Turnpike Crash A 32-year-old man died in a crash on the NJ Turnpike early Wednesday in Union County. An International tractor trailer and a Hino box truck were heading north in the truck late when the truck struck the back of the trailer at milepost 101.9 around 6:55 a.m., New Jersey State Police spokeswoman Brandi Slota said. The driver of the Hino box truck suffered minor issues, and the passenger, Geraldo J. Velez-Portes, 32, of Perth Amboy, died. The driver of the tractor trailer sustained minor injuries.

NJ Gym Owner Who Punched Officer At Capitol Riots Wants Financial Help While Jailed A New Jersey gym owner who punched a police officer during the Jan. 6 Capitol Riots has raised more than $30,000 in an online campaign. The Department of Justice on Wednesday apparently sought the harshest sentence in the attacks yet for Scott Fairlamb, a former MMA fighter, of Sussex County. Dad Killed In Roselle Hit-Run Crash, Fundraiser Says A Union County dad was killed in a hit-and-run crash late last month, according to a fundraiser launched for family. Todd Matthews, 37, was apparently on his way home from work when he was struck on Thompson Avenue late one October night, a GoFundMe page for him reads. Old Navy Employee Struck, Killed By Car In Jersey City 'Never Missed A Day' A 36-year-old Jersey City man was struck and killed by a car Wednesday night in Jersey City, authorities said. Phillip Delancy was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center after being struck at 740 Route 440 around 9:30 p.m. Nov. 3, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
