Notes In Public PA Bathrooms Lead Police To Woman Being Sexually Assaulted By Purported Captor
"If I don't make it, tell my family I love them." That's what authorities say was scrawled on a note left in two public Pennsylvania bathrooms that ultimately led them to rescue a woman being held captive. The woman left the notes in the bathrooms at Walmart in Carnegie and the Fallingwater museum, and included the address where she said she was being held by 38-year-old Corey Brewer, authorities said. Teens Among Multiple Victims Injured, 1 Dead In Rash Of Newark Shootings
A rash of shootings injured multiple people including teens and killed one person Tuesday night in Newark, authorities and news reports say. According to RLS Media, one victim walked into Beth Israel Hospital with a gunshot wound suffered on Grumman Avenue around 6 p.m. Then, two teens were injured in a shooting on the 100 block of Lincoln Street around 7:45 p.m., police said. Girl Struck, Killed By NJ Transit Train
A girl was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train Tuesday in North Jersey. The Morris & Essex line train was heading to Dover in Morris County from New York Penn Station when it struck the girl at 12:15 p.m. in Maplewood, NJ Transit officials said. The incident occurred just west of the station. Morris and Essex Line rail service was temporarily suspended due to this incident. New Jersey Transit Police are on scene leading the investigation. Sources with direct knowledge of the incident told Daily Voice the girl was 14 years old.

A man was being held on an aggravated arson charge in connection with a fire at a Hudson County synagogue earlier this month, authorities said. Oswaldo Domingo Xil-Argueta, 29, is accused of torching Mesivta Sanz Yeshiva and its synagogue on 34th Street in Union City around 3 a.m. on July 3, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
