Central Dauphin HS Assistant Band Director Fired After Child Porn Bust
Central Dauphin High School has fired a 39-year-old assistant band director after he was arrested on child porn charges. Stephen Gugoff, of Harrisburg, became the center of a state-wide investigation when an officer with the Derry Township Police Department discovered an Internet Protocol (IP) address sharing files of child pornography on a peer-to-peer file-sharing network, Pennsylvania Attorney General Joshua Shapiro said. Authorities Probe Purported 'Gun' Text Between Jersey City Charter School Students
Police in Jersey City were investigating after a student apparently sent a text message of a gun to another student, city officials said. The 15-year-old boy sent the photo of the handgun in a text to a 14-year-old girl at The Ethical Community Charter School (TECCS), Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione told Daily Voice. The incident was reported Friday at 10:15 a.m. As is standard policy with incidents involving juveniles, no further information will be provided at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

Viva Margarita Replacing Hackensack Sports Bar
Viva Margarita is opening a fourth location. The popular Bergen County Mexican restaurant chain will open an outpost on Main Street in Hackensack, BoozyBurbs reports. The restaurant will replace sports bar Cheers, at 774 Main St. Viva Margarita has locations in Wallington and Edgewater, and last summer relocated its Cliffside Park restaurant to Anderson Avenue. The Lawton Avenue spot in Cliffside Park is open for to-go orders. The Hackensack location is expected to open in late July or early August.

19-Year-Old Morris County Man Dead, 5 Others Hurt In Jersey Shore Boat Crash
A 19-year-old Morris County man died and five others were hurt in a boating accident Sunday on the Jersey Shore. The pontoon boat struck a marker near the Route 37 bridge in Barnegat Bay, throwing two of the six individuals on board into the water around 1:30 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Alejandro Goez said. Corey Molinari, of Whippany, was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center with serious injuries, and later died, Goez said. Four others suffered non life-threatening injuries, Goez said.

2 Hospitalized After Log Flume Tips At Six Flags Great Adventure
Two people were hospitalized Sunday after a boat on the log flume ride tipped at Six Flags Great Adventure. The boat apparently malfunctioned and tipped at an angle -- but did not overturn at the Jackson, NJ amusement park, officials said. Several guests were stuck on the boat and were helped off by park officials.

Motorcyclist, 24, Dies In York County Crash
A 24-year-old motorcyclist died following a crash Saturday at a local hospital, officials said. David Scheidegg, of Rising Sun, MD, lost control on Seven Valleys and Grothey roads in North Codorus Township and crashed into a parked truck around 1:20 p.m., the York County Coroner's Office said. He was rushed to Wellspan York Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 2 p.m., the York County Coroner's Office said. Scheidegg was helmeted at the time of the crash. Sussex County Jeep Driver, 18, Dead In Crash
An 18-year-old Jeep driver died in a Sussex County crash early Sunday morning. The crash occurred at the intersection of County Routes 519 and 650 in Wantage around 1:30 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Alejandro Goez said. Jonathan Fett of Wantage, was behind the wheel of a Jeep Grand Cherokee going west on 650 when he was struck by a GMC Sierra going north on 519, the sergeant said. Fett was killed while the 42-year-old GMC driver and his adult passenger were uninjured. More than $3,000 had been raised for the Fett family on a GoFundMe as of Sunday afternoon. Man Struck, Killed By SEPTA Train In Bucks County
A man was struck and killed by a SEPTA train Friday night in Bucks County. The southbound West Trenton Line train was approaching the Langhorne station when the man walked into its path north of the station around 8:05 p.m., SEPTA officials said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chester County Man Accidentally Shoots, Kills Friend While Playing Dice
A 20-year-old Coatesville man playing with a handgun accidentally shot and killed his friend while playing dice, authorities announced. Dapree Bryant and Daryl Perry, 18, were playing dice at a house on the 300block of Community Lane in Coatesville on May 29, Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said. Perry was sitting in a chair looking at his phone when Bryant picked up a gun sitting on a plastic tub in the garage and began to play with it, Ryan said.
