: Police ID Victim Killed In Newark
A quadruple shooting left one person dead and wounded four this weekend in Newark. Julius K. Ferguson, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident around 3:20 a.m. Sunday, May 7, on the 400 block of Orange Street, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II said. Three other victims were taken to University Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is active and ongoing. No arrests have been made. Attempted Car Thief Shot Multiple Times In Philadelphia
A 28-year-old man's attempt to steal a car was intercepted when he was shot multiple times in Philadelphia over the weekend, authorities said. The unidentified black male was committing the crime on the 6100 block of Ellsworth Street on the highway around 9:50 p.m., when someone fired at him, striking him multiple times throughout his body, city police said. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center by police and placed in critical condition. An arrest was made and weapon was recovered, authorities said.

New Brunswick City Worker Andrea Diaz Dies Suddenly, 22
Support was surging for the family of a 22-year-old New Brunswick woman who died suddenly in April 2023. Andrea Diaz was being remembered on a GoFundMe campaign as a "loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt and friend to many." The campaign had raised more than $8,200 as of Sunday, May 7. According to her obituary, Andrea had been working for the City of New Brunswick at the time of her passing. Motorcyclist, 40, Killed In Jersey Shore Crash
A 40-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an overnight crash at the Jersey Shore, authorities said. The Jackson Township man was heading south on Manassa Road in Howell when he ran off the roadway to the right and struck a utility pole around 12:35 a.m., local police said. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Convenience Store Shooting Prompts Police Presence In Stafford
A shooting brought a large police presence to a Stafford convenience store Saturday, May 6. A man was rushed to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound following an incident at the Quick Mart on Onville Road sometime after 9 p.m., the county sheriff's department said. The suspect fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival, and a large law enforcement presence was at the scene. The suspect was described as a thin black male wearing a white shirt and black mask. Anyone with information is urged to call the Stafford County Sheriff's Office at 540-658-4400.

Police Shoot Knife-Wielding Man In Vineland: Prosecutor
Police in Vineland shot a 28-year-old man who lunged at them with a knife after he wounded another civilian Friday, May 5, authorities said. Police responded to the 500 block of East Birch Street around 11:20 a.m., where they encountered the armed man, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said. The man was shot by an officer twice after charging at them with a knife, Webb-McRae said. A former Pennsylvania State Police corporal pleaded guilty to various child porn charges, including one for having images of children under 12 years old, authorities said. Sean Ryan McKenzie tried enticing a minor whom he knew to "engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing any visual depiction of such conduct," Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti said. Pilot Survives NJ Plane Crash
A pilot survived a plane crash Saturday afternoon, May 6 in Somerset County, authorities said. The single-engine Mooney M20 crashed into a field after departing Central Jersey Regional Airport in Manville, around 1 p.m., according to the FAA. No other occupants were on board, and no further details were immediately available. The crash remains under investigation.
