SEPTA Rider Tapping Gun On Train Door In Fare Dispute Prompts Police Presence At Villanova A fare dispute in which a man became angry and tapped a gun on the glass of a SEPTA train door before running away prompted a boosted police presence at Villanova University Tuesday, Feb. 14, officials said. The incident occurred on an inbound Norristown High Speed Line train at Villanova Station around 10:30 p.m., SEPTA spokesperson Kelly Greene said. Escaped Teen Charged In Fanta Bility Killing Captured In Philadelphia A 17-year-old boy accused of starting the gunfight that killed 8-year-old Fanta Bility outside of an Academy Park High School football game in August 2021 is back in police custody after months of being on the run, authorities said. Anthony "AJ" Ford made a swift escape from a youth facility where he was being held on an attempted murder charge in February 2022. 18-Year-Old Driver Ejected In Route 287 Crash Faces Long Road To Recovery The 18-year-old driver ejected in a Route 287 crash over the weekend is facing a long road to recovery. Kamil D. Nowak, of Rockaway, was heading south in the express lanes when his Infiniti ran off the road to the left and struck multiple trees around 1:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 12 in Bridgewater, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. Nowak was ejected and rushed to the hospital, where he has remained since and undergone multiple surgeries, according a GoFundMe campaign. The campaign says Nowak will face a long road to recovery. 27-Year-Old Man Killed In Route 78 Crash A 27-year-old man from Hillsborough died in a crash on Route 78 Monday, Feb. 13, authorities said. Sebastian Hofmann was heading east in a Dodge pickup truck when he struck a Tesla around 10:10 p.m. in Warren Township, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. The Tesla crossed the roadway to the left and struck a metal guardrail in impact while the Dodge ran off the road to the left and struck several trees and overturned. Hofmann was ejected and killed. The crash remains under investigation.

Michigan State Shooter Has NJ Ties, Previous Gun Offense The 43-year-old gunman who killed three students and wounded five at Michigan State University before turning the gun on himself Monday, Feb. 13 appears to have New Jersey ties. The shooter was identified by MSU Interim Deputy Chief Chris Rozman as Anthony McRae. According to a report by the New York Post and her obituary, McRae's late mother was born and lived in Trenton. Crash Closes Portion Of NJ Turnpike In Elizabeth Twenty-five people were hospitalized in a crash involving a New Jersey Transit bus on the New Jersey Turnpike early Tuesday, Feb. 14, authorities said. A No. 139 line bus fro Lakewood was heading to Port Authority with 29 customers on board when it was involved in a collision with a Mack and a Freightliner around 7:30 a.m. near Interchange 13 in Elizabeth, NJT officials said. The 25 occupants transported to area hospitals suffered non life-threatening injuries while four refused medical attention. No further details were available.
