Multiple Car Crash Leaves One Person Dead In Somerset County One person died in a Somerset County crash early Thursday, Oct. 20, authorities said. The accident happened around 6:40 a.m. at Marshall and Amwell roads, Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald said. No further information was released. The investigation is currently ongoing pending the results of the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team’s findings. The New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has been notified. Snake Removed From Florida Flight At Newark Airport As Passengers Shriek A horror movie just about came to life for passengers on a United Airlines flight at Newark Airport this week: Snake on a plane. A garter snake was removed from flight 2038 as passengers shrieked and lifted their feet around 1:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17 on the runway, according to SimpleFlying and Port Authority police. The little guy was released into the wild near the airport. The plane, which had arrived from Tampa, FL, was then searched for additional serpents, SimpleFlying says. None were found. Driver Airlifted When Tractor Trailer Overturns On Route 78 The driver of a tractor trailer was airlifted to the hospital after he lost control of his tractor trailer overturned on Route 78 earlier this week. The driver apparently lost control of the vehicle on the westbound side near milepost 28.5 in Bedminster around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said. Despite suffering only minor injuries, the driver was flown to Morristown Medical Center, Curry said. The right and center lanes of the highway were closed for five hours. The crash remains under investigation.

$50K Powerball Winner Sold At Maryland Market A Powerball ticket good for $50,000 was sold in Maryland. The third-tier winning ticket from the Monday, Oct. 17 drawing was sold at Lee’s Market located at 338 Brock Ridge Road in Anne Arundel County. The winning numbers to match were 19, 30, 36, 46 and 60; the Powerball was 25. The estimated Powerball jackpot has rolled to $508 million for the Wednesday, Oct. 19 drawing, making it the second-largest Powerball jackpot of 2022.

Hit-Run Driver In Buddy's BMW Hurts Teen Girl Before Abandoning Car On NJ Turnpike: Police A 51-year-old Newark man who struck a teenage girl in his friend's BMW abandoned the car on the NJ Turnpike before surrendering to police, authorities said.
