Arsonists Set Fire To Maryland Church In Dead Of Night, Officials Say
A fire that broke out in the middle of the night at a Montgomery County church is being probed as arson, officials said. Firefighters were called to the Saint Jane de Chantal Church on Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda sometime after 2:30 a.m., for a fire in the main church, MoCo Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer said. Off-Duty Maryland Firefighter Uses Creative Method To Control Blaze Sparked By Charging E-Cig
A fast-thinking firefighter sprung into action to help a family whose house was on fire early Sunday, July 10 in Maryland. The Montgomery County firefighter was passing by the home at 100 block Winnie Place in Gaithersburg, when he apparently noticed the commotion. Residents used a fire extinguisher, but the firefighter grabbed the garden hose to finish the job, MoCo Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer said. The blaze caused nearly $10,000 in damages.

A Dauphin County jury has convicted a 28-year-old woman of third-degree murder in her brother's Christmas Eve murder in 2020. Nafiisah McNeill initially tried to claim she stabbed Leon White-Jones dead in self-defense, in front of her sister's home on the 2400 block of North 4th Street in Harrisburg in 2020, Dauphin County District Attorney's Office. A 32-year-old Maryland man was flown to a hospital after he choked a woman while swinging at her with a knife, then arrested three days later, authorities said.
