70+ Car Crash Closes Route 581 For Hours A pileup involving approximately 70 vehicles will shut Route 581 in Cumberland County indefinitely Saturday, March 12. The crash was reported on the eastbound side near mile marker 7.1 around 2:10 p.m., in the wake of the afternoon snow storm. It happened between exits for Route 15 and I-83. Several injuries were reported, though none were life-threatening, authorities said. Drivers sat in traffic for two or three hours, some without heat, before being reunited with their families or taken to a local firehouse for treatment.

PA Woman Gave Alcohol To Minors At Party; 6 Others Charged With Underage Drinking: Police A Pennsylvania woman and six juveniles were arrested during a party where alcohol was being served to minors, authorities said. Melissa Marie Ferrell, 43, was accused of providing alcohol to the children at her Stevens home on Feb. 25, East Cocalico Township police said. Officers were called to the home on the 100 block of East Church Street just before 10 p.m., on reports of an underage drinking party, police said. Bicyclist Critical After Crash With Tractor Trailer In Maryland A bicyclist was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a tractor trailer in Montgomery County Friday, March 11, authorities said. Residents Displaced By Long Valley Apartment Fire Several residents were displaced by a fire that damaged a Washington Township apartment complex earlier this week, authorities said. Firefighters responding to the Peachtree Apartments in Long Valley found smoke inside of a first-floor apartment on Thursday, March 10 around 8:10 p.m., police said.
