Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Toms River High School South on Hvers Street reportedly was evacuated about 7:30 a.m. as other students were arriving due to the threat.  No one was reported hurt and authorities were searching for any problems.  This is a developing news story. Philadelphia Man Shot Stepfather Dead, Authorities In South Jersey Say A 23-year-old man from Philadelphia has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of his stepfather in South Jersey, authorities said.  Woolwich Township police responded to a 9-1-1 call about a shooting on Cottonwood Road in Woolwich at 4:15 p.m. Saturday. Police found Dennis McKenzie, 43, dead at his home, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. Gloucester police and prosecutor’s detectives investigated and arrested Christian Smith, 23, at the scene of the shooting, they said. Victim, 35, Gunned Down In Atlantic City A 35-year-old man from Atlantic City was fatally shot, authorities said. The shooting occurred at 4:04 a.m. Sunday on South Georgia Avenue, according to Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill Atlantic City police responded to a 9-1-1 call about the shooting, Shill said.  When police arrived, they found a man fatally shot. First Responders Called To Rollover Crash, Wires Down, Tree On Fire On Jersey Shore Firefighters, police and EMS crews were called to a report of an overturned vehicle in Ocean County, authorities said. The vehicle struck a utility pole and downed live which reportedly set a nearby tree on fire, according to initial reports. Middletown Fire Engine Damaged In Crash A fire engine from Central Jersey was reported damaged after a crash, authorities said.  The crash, into a guardrail, was reported about 1:30 p.m. Monday near Normandy Road and Route 35 in Middletown Township, reports said. No one was reported hurt.  The Middletown engine belongs to East Keansburg Fire Co. An unconfirmed report said: "Reporting decent damage to the truck."

Tidal Flood Warning Issued For Jersey Shore, South Jersey: NWS Coastal flood warnings are in effect for the Jersey Shore and South Jersey, according to the National Weather Service. The warning from the NWS in Mount Holly/Philadelphia is in effect until 5 p.m. Monday. "The threat will lessen as we go through the new week," the NWS said on Facebook.  The currents causing inland flooding are exacerbated by 10 mph winds from the northeast.
