MS-13 Member Gets 21 Years In Prison For 2018 Virginia Murder: Prosecutor A 24-year-old pleaded guilty this week to killing a man for the violent street gang MS-13, Virginia prosecutors said. Jose Morales-Arriola will serve 21 years in jail in connection with the 2018 killing of a Chesapeake man, said the commonwealth's attorney for Virginia Beach. The Fairfax County Police Department aided in the investigation that led to this conviction. Police ID 22-Year-Old As Swimmer Who Drowned At Leesylvania State Park Police identified the swimmer who drowned on Saturday, June 18, at the Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge. Cristian Rodas, 22, of Fairfax, was swimming with two friends at the park's boating dock just before 1 p.m. when he went under the water, Prince William County police said. His friends dove to find him but weren't able to pull him to safety before he died. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene. A medical examiner will perform an autopsy in the coming days. Police ID Couple Who Broke Into Woodbridge Store, But Can't Find One Suspect Police say they've identified the couple who broke into a Woodbridge store for some early morning shopping earlier this month, but they haven't been able to find one of the suspects. Manassas Man Threatens To Cut Man's Face Off Over Parking Spot: Police A 37-year-old man was so upset over losing a parking spot he threatened to re-enact the Nicolas Cage classic "Face/Off," police said. Fairfax County Says Goodbye To Good Boy Officer A patrol dog that served with the Fairfax County Police Department for nearly a decade died over the weekend. Comak, who served the department from 2010 until 2019, died on Saturday, June 18, police announced on Facebook. He was 14 years old. Comak lived with his former handler's family after he retired, where he continued to be a good boy until his death. Police ID Victim In Stafford Motel Murder Authorities have identified the man killed at a Red Roof Inn in Stafford County over the weekend. Deputies said Leo Franklin, 47, of Maryland, died at the Warrenton Road motel in Stafford just after 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 19. Fairfax Man Dies After Driving Off Mountain Road: Police A 42-year-old Fairfax man died over the weekend after crashing his motorcycle on a mountain road, reports said. Ui Kyung Kim crashed Saturday afternoon, June 18, while driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Bedford County, The Roanoke Times reported. The National Park Service said Kim was speeding south near milepost 77, not far from the Apple Orchard Mountain overlook, and couldn't navigate a curve. He lost control of the bike and went off of the two-lane road, the report said. No other cars were involved in the crash.
