Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Negus Kirton was sentenced on Friday, Aug. 12 to 25 years to life in state prison following his July conviction for the 2020 murder of Michael Toro, age 21, in Mount Vernon. Sayville Man Drowns In Great South Bay Police are investigating the drowning death of a Long Island man. The man was crabbing at the West Sayville docks, located on West Avenue in West Sayville, when witnesses discovered him in the water at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, Suffolk County Police said.  The good Samaritans pulled him from the water and attempted to resuscitate him, said police. The man, identified as Joe Zdenek, age 82, of Sayville, was transported by Sayville Community Ambulance to Southside Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later, according to police.

It happened in Rockland County around noontime Saturday, Aug. 6 in New City in the area of Little Tor Road between Tor Terrace and Morland Road and involved a vehicle and a pedestrian, Clarkstown Police said.
